SAP DBM (Dealer Business Management) going to implement first time in Sri Lanka. I’m directly involving in DBM implementation. It’s a new and interesting experience.
DBM is an industry specific solution in SAP (SAP IS auto solution). This component supports the industry-specific sales and services processes of dealers and dealer organizations, as well as vehicle importers, authorized dealers, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)-dedicated vendors.
This includes handling of new and used vehicles sales, vehicle service (workshop process, warranty process, insurance process, etc…) and parts management.
Furthermore, it also supports horizontal integration between dealers. For example, members of dealer organizations can obtain an overview of the parts and vehicles in stock for the entire dealer organization.
As a dealer, you can manage an order from its creation, through its completion.
This is just an introduction on DBM, hope to update you further with the implementation experience.
